Aesthetics and prosthetics
Dental aesthetics that last are the ones that respect how you bite. A pretty result that fights your bite chips, comes loose or ends up hurting the joint.
So before any veneer or crown we study the contact between the two arches. Only then do we decide the material, the shade and how much tooth needs preparing, which is the part with no way back and the part where it pays to be conservative.
Whitening is done with custom trays and gel applied at home, monitored at the practice. It is slower than a light session, the result holds better and it causes less sensitivity. We do not whiten over inflamed gums or untreated decay.
In prosthetics we work with both removable dentures and fixed work on implants. For a full denture that moves, two implants with attachments are often the difference between eating carefully and eating normally, and they cost considerably less than rebuilding the whole mouth.
